More than 1,000 employees from ten First Coast companies begin progress on losing a ton of weight in just eight weeks
YMCA First Coast Games, a three-month corporate wellness challenge, presented by VyStar Credit Union

ABOUT FIRST COAST GAMES:
YMCA First Coast Games, presented by VyStar Credit Union, is the YMCA’s annual corporate wellness challenge designed to help participants play hard, work better and live well through increased physical activity and a host of exercise and nutrition resources. The 8-week challenge offers employees from participating Northeast Florida companies a fun and exciting opportunity to attain their fitness goals, create habits for healthier lifestyles and promote teamwork and friendship amongst their co-workers both in and out of the office.
The Games consist of three main components: wellness challenges, competitive challenges and recreational challenges. Companies participating in the 2011 Games include Beeline, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, British Airways, Brooks, City of Jacksonville, Crowley, Deutsche Bank, LPS/FIS, UF & Shands Jacksonville and VyStar Credit Union. The goal for the more than 1,000 participants from these companies in the 2011 games is to literally lose a ton of weight (2,000 lbs.) by the end of the eight-week program. Final results will be announced at the Closing Ceremony at the Jacksonville Landing on December 1.
Through First Coast Games both the YMCA and VyStar Credit Union seek to educate and expose the work force to fun and exciting activities, in the friendly spirit of competition, so participants will begin to reap the benefits of healthier lifestyles both at home and at work, which in turn, will help build a healthier, stronger First Coast.

- Parade of teams including a banner and team chant bonus point competition
